CSMIA’S T1 To Commence Domestic Operations Starting Tomorrow With 70 Flights

 Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport (CSMIA) is set to re-consolidate its domestic operations from Terminal 1 (T1) and welcome passengers on board. Starting October 13 2021, T1 will be resuming operations for passengers travelling on domestic routes, and the terminal will witness about 70 flight movements across 20 destinations on day 1 of its revival with a gradual rise in flight movements till October 30, 2021, and will increase its routes to 36 destinations from October 31 2021.

The resumption of services via T1 will help maintain passenger safety and ensure a seamless transit. The terminal will cater to all domestic flight operations of Go First, with the first flight departing at 05:50 hrs to Chennai from CSMIA, while the first flight will arrive at 07:20 hrs from Chennai. Besides, Air Asia India is set to resume its flight operations from October 16. 

The airport prioritizes and upholds the wellbeing of its passengers from start of time and continues to ensure maintenance and safety at the airport. CSMIA is providing the best of facilities, besides implementing COVID guidelines placed by the Government. Additionally, passengers will be allowed to enter the terminal only 4 hours before their departure time to provide smooth transit. 

CSMIA has undertaken various steps and put in place standard operating procedures for the safety of its passengers, which includes enhanced touchpoints across the airport to enable seamless integrations. While sanitizers are placed at strategic locations, passenger baggage will be sanitized in the baggage make-up area, and wheelchairs & trolleys to be sanitized after every use. In addition to standard RT-PCR, the Express COVID testing facility has been made available in the domestic arrival hall and on the cityside, which provides the COVID result in less than 30 minutes post sample collection. This facility will be helpful for passengers requiring RT-PCR at the last minute. 

CSMIA continually strives towards providing its passengers with a comfortable and safe experience while travelling through the airport. The airport’s Terminal 1 is well equipped with advanced technology and world-class services to provide passengers with the highest standard of service. Through the resumption of flight operations from Terminal 1, the airport will continue to comply with the preventive measures mentioned by the Government to safeguard the wellbeing of the passengers and airport personnel.
