The sixth edition of the Kerala Literature Festival (KLF 2022) will be held at the beaches of Calicut (Kozhikode) from January 20th to January 23rd, 2022. Organized by the DC Kizhakemuri Foundation, the event is supported by the Government of Kerala and Kerala Tourism Board. Renowned poet, critic, and writer Prof K Satchidanandan is the festive director of KLF 2022. Set along with the shores of the Arabian Sea, the 4-days festival brings artists, actors, celebrities, writers, thinkers, and activists closer to people of different backgrounds and interests. With an aggregate footfall of more than 3 lakhs, KLF is the second largest festival of its kind in Asia, combining the best of literary and popular cultures.

KLF 2022 will host 200 plus sessions attracting prolific writers, experts, and performers from across India and more than 12 nations globally. The sixth edition promises to be an outstanding affair with over 400 speakers including the likes of Jeffrey Archer, Ada Yonath, Abhijit Banerjee, Arundhati Roy, Remo Fernandes, Sagarika Ghose, Wendy Doniger, Shashi Tharoor, Manu S Pillai, Devdutt Pattanaik, Chris Kraus, Sudhir Kakar among others.

Over the Years, KLF has seen unparalleled growth amongst literature festivals in the continent. While the movie buffs are seen in numbers at International Film Festival of Kerala (IFFK), and art lovers wait for Kochi Muziris Biennale, KLF combines both these worlds seamlessly covering a wide spectrum of interests. Fireside chats at nights, music concerts, classical, theatre, and performing artists will make up the entertainment quotient at KLF 2022. This year the organizers will introduce curated gastronomical exuberance with food trucks and ethnic cuisines.

Audience enjoying literature festival

“It is a privilege to be back at KLF and to remind oneself why this is among India’s best literature festivals. The lineup of speakers is not only exceedingly impressive, the time and space allocated to writers across languages, and on themes that are so diverse, makes attendance a richly rewarding experience. The audience is extraordinarily good and invested in the festival, their enthusiasm palpable from the large distances many of them travel in order to be at KLF. And finally, that the festival is situated in Kozhikode- a city with such a remarkable past – makes KLF even more delightful” says author and historian Manu S Pillai. An eclectic mix of literary & cultural icons and an even spread of celebrity quotient under the same roof at the beach of Kozhikode makes KLF 2022 a hugely anticipated event in the State and across the country. The festival on the beach will be an experience like no other
