INTERNATIONAL WOMEN’S DAY 2022
Today the world comes together for International Women’s Day to celebrate women’s achievements – but the day also marks a strong global call to action: To tackle still existing discrimination, to forge an equal future. In most regions of the world, women make up the majority of the tourism workforce but tend to be concentrated in the lowest paid, lowest status jobs and perform a large amount of unpaid work in family tourism businesses.

From Covid to Climate Crisis and Ukraine, Are Policies in Place to Minimize Crises’ Impact on Travel and Tourism?
Destinations and the worldwide travel industry must make tourism resilience planning part of doing business. It is not enough to react to crises, instead identify what can be done in advance to minimize impact on lives and livelihoods. The keynote discussion with WTTC’s Julia Simpson and the Ministerial Roundtable led by Monika Jones illuminate action and needs to be addressed. Ministers from Jamaica, Greece and Philippines provide concrete actions in tourism resilience: 12:00 – 12:50 pm
Post Corona – the paving way for new hotel concepts
The new dimensions of luxury are on the rise: individualized and personalized concepts, the special emphasis on security, space and time and, above all, exclusivity, and the pursuit of concepts beyond the ordinary to sensual luxury and spiritual luxury. Rarely have the times been so interesting to introduce new hotel and tourism concepts to a market hungry for travel and indulgence. Don’t miss Marc Aeberhard, Founder & Owner, Luxury Hotel & Spa Management Ldt. discussing this topic with his panel guests at 5:00 – 5:50 pm.
