During the Ancient Kingdoms Festival, AlUla will welcome visitors from across the world for an unprecedented experience of history that spans millennia.
Through innovative and thoughtfully designed experiences, visitors can uncover history through new and exciting points of access – from an interactive shadow show at Ikmah to a Nabatean dining experience at Hegra – allowing them to experience history as active participants rather than passive observers.
WHATS IN STORE?
ALMANSHIYAH PLAZA – AlUla’s newest gathering place, AlManshiyah Plaza, is a lively community with restaurants and cafes, playgrounds and communal areas, a farmers market coming soon in January ’23 and live music on Fridays.
MUSIC IN ANCIENT ERAS – This sensational evening event is a modern-day version of a traveller’s experience on the famed Incense Road. Renowned Maestro Naseer Shamma will return to AlUla at the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Hegra.
IKMAH AFTER DARK – This wonderous experience at the historic ‘Open Library’ of Jabal Ikmah will take you through a Candlelit Night Tour of Jabal Ikmah, Heritage Café Reception, and an Interactive Shadow Show.
HEGRA AFTER DARK – Spread across the different tomb sites of Hegra, this experience makes for an epic night with the ‘Awaken the Senses Reception’, Starlit Chariot Ride, and AlHaritha (Aretas) IV Immersive Show.
HEGRA BY HORSE CARRIAGE – Explore Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site, Hegra, as the ancient Nabataeans would have atop a handcrafted wooden horse carriage in this private tour with a skilled Rawi.
INCENSE ROAD – A leisure and retail experience is being created in the AlJadidah with curated street art, public murals, cafes and shops while preserving the urban heritage of the area.
