During October, Rhiannon, a PhD student from the University of Exeter, completed her coral surveys across 13 different sites. MUI welcomed several new team members including Kiah Williams, Jess Hodge, Mahil Ahmed (Coco), and Julian Gervolino. The Junior Marine Biology program ran two brand new sessions about coral reefs and invertebrates. Manta Trust observed two courtship trains at Fonadhoo Beyru and Fushi Kandu and successfully deployed 7 remote cameras. Blue Marine Foundation completed 8 days of grouper spawning surveys and signed a landmark agreement with L.Hithadhoo council. The Olive Ridley Project had a successful turtle hatching event and their database surpassed 750 identified individuals. In the community, Six Senses Laamu welcomed several schools to the resort and attended a series of webinars hosted under the United Nations Environment Program (UNEP). Finally, Earth Lab started Eco printing workshops and provided a step-by-step guide on how to use natural dyes from the garden.
