Delhi’s seafood lovers who have to wait for a vacay to beach destinations to satiate their fresh-seafood cravings will have to wait no more as the ocean comes to them! Mumbai’s premium fine dining seafood restaurant Ministry of Crab, Mumbai will be in Delhi for a limited time with its pop-up event from January 11-14 at the Shang Palace, Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, serving the freshest and finest Indian Crab and Prawn to guests.

Ministry of Crab, Mumbai is a must-visit destination for any seafood lover when in Mumbai. It’s located at one of Mumbai’s iconic heritage properties and frequented by most celebrities and socialites. The restaurant serves dishes curated by chef Dharshan Munidasa and adheres to a no-freezer policy ensuring that they serve only the best catch of the day. When it comes to crabs, small, meatless, unevenly sized claws are unacceptable at the table and ingredients are of utmost importance in all the dishes that are served.

The pop-up at Shangri-La Eros New Delhi, will showcase a four-course set menu which includes Avocado Crab Salad, a stunning combination of steamed and chilled white meat of crab with wasabi mayonnaise, served in avocado, followed by Garlic Chilli Prawn, an amazingly large lake prawn cooked in Italian olive oil, Japanese soy sauce, garlic, and chilli flakes in a style that is unique to Ministry of Crab, served with Kade Bread, 18-cubes of traditional Sri Lankan wood-fired bread. The main course features Pepper Crab, Indian Lagoon Crab, hand-crushed peppercorns, and pepper stock. Steamed Japanese sticky rice is served on the side.  Finish your meal on a sweet note with Coconut Crème Brûlée, a tropical island twist on the classic French dessert, created using rich coconut milk and baked to perfection in fresh coconut.

New Delhi will be first among the few cities to get a sneak peek at the iconic Crab Biryani on the last day of the pop-up where we will introduce Delhiites to the original recipe of Chef Dharshan. The Crab Biryani infused with the flavours of the delicious mud crab is accompanied with freshly hand-ground Mint Sambol, Classic Malay Pickle and Crab Bisque (Gravy).

On the occasion of the pop-up Chef Dharshan Munidasa said, “Those who live near the ocean can enjoy their seafood throughout the year but for the seafood lovers in places like Delhi, relishing freshly-caught, freshly-cooked seafood is a luxury that comes by rarely. We wanted to bring that experience to Delhiites and hope they have the best meal of their life here.”

Ramit Mittal, Executive Chairman & Director, Gourmet Investments Pvt. Ltd. commented saying “We are delighted to partner with Shangri-La Eros New Delhi and thank their team for helping us organise this pop-up experience for our patrons in Delhi. There is a huge community of seafood lovers in the capital, and we welcome them all to indulge in this gastronomic seafood affair with the Ministry of Crab, Mumbai that celebrates fresh seafood and serves only wild caught crabs and strictly follows a no-freezer policy,”
