Sign language is a vital mode of communication for many differently-abled individuals, enabling them to connect with the world around them. And it is essential to spread awareness about it as we work towards a more inclusive society. “Our goal at the Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management is to ensure our students step out into the corporate world as future-forward professionals and responsible global citizens. Being a people-driven industry that relies on human interaction our students must be equipped with all the necessary skills to ensure they can deliver consistent and quality hospitality experiences to all their guests. And, with our collaboration with Pahal Foundation, we seek to achieve just that. These classes will ensure that our students not just learn about inclusivity but are also empowered with the knowledge to practice it” says Nasir Shaikh, Group CEO, The Lexicon Group of Institutes, EduCrack and MultiFit.

The institute has already started the first set of classes during which the students were introduced to the basics of Indian Sign Language and its vocabulary. Through the upcoming sessions, the students will be equipped with relevant communication skills and gain an in-depth understanding of grammar. The students will also undergo evaluations at school to gauge their competence and receive certificates post-successfully completing the program. This partnership between Lexicon Institute of Hotel Management and the Pahal Foundation has not only paved the path for an inclusive community but also opened additional professional opportunities for the students.
