Sahil Anand, MD, The Acacia Group

Determined on making it big in life since a very young age, Sahil was all of 18 when he clearly knew that he wanted to leave a legacy behind. With extreme clarity in his thought process, he has always been a firm believer of the fact that people come and go but what stays behind is what they’ve given back to the world, what they have built and what they contributed. With an intent that strong, Sahil set out to build a brand in a sector he was always passionate about, hospitality. It was not by chance that he found his calling in the trade, but a couple years of hard work from a tender age in his family-owned flagship hotel The Acacia Hotel & Spa, Goa. Shouldering complete responsibility of the hotel as the Managing Director, right from ground level operations to sales & marketing since it’s inception in 2014, he started to explore more untapped areas in the hospitality business and it was not long before he stumbled upon the potential that luxury rental holiday homes held and invested all his savings to launch The Acacia Villas in 2018. The first year posed several challenges and there were several setbacks but he turned all stumbling blocks into stepping stones. With the second year of business, came the scale up and hike in revenue and soon there was no looking back for this newly introduced segment. Alternatively, the brand also opened its second hotel The Acacia Morjim, Goa in 2019. Not many people may know, but Acacia is the first hotel brand in India to also enter the luxury villa rentals segment.

Acacia has also ventured into development of luxury villas in several prominent locations of North Goa, which it plans to make outright sales on and then take the same back from owners on management basis. They will be providing a lucrative return of 7-10% per annum to their buyers, which is way greater than the regular return an investor would get on any residential property anywhere else in the country.
The brand is now looking to beef up and expand into several other locations of the country by leasing hotels, making management collaborations and by building more assets of their own as well.
