In all the 3 properties of AHS in India – U Rivergate Karjat, Eastin Easy Vita and Eastin Residences Vadodara, a Travel Sustainable programme is already in place – making it easier for guests to experience the world more sustainably.
The program includes availability of recycling bins for wastes, and water cooler/dispensers for drinking water. And we are transiting from plastic to glass for drinking water, which is sourced from a plant, providing Alkaline water. The interior of the room is designed with water-efficient toilets and showers. Guests have an option to opt-out of daily room cleaning and option to reuse towels.
“Energy saved is Energy generated”; so, all the AHS India properties are maintained with Energy and greenhouse gases. Most of the food provided at the property is locally sourced and although the lighting throughout the property is run on energy-efficient LED bulbs, we are exploring the Solar options wherever possible. The resorts and hotels are strategically designed with windows that are double-glazed and key card or motion-controlled electricity are in place. The properties even make huge efforts to reduce their food wastage.
AHS also believes in sharing and giving back to the community, and this has seen them investing a percentage of revenue back into community projects or sustainability projects. Other significant point to note is that the tours and activities are organised by local guides and here local artists are offered a platform to display their talents. The hotel and resorts of AHS India also provides guests with information regarding local ecosystems, heritage, and culture, as well as visitor etiquette.
Nature holds the key to our aesthetic satisfaction and here at AHS and its hotels and resorts animals are not displayed/interacted with while captive on the property or harvested, consumed, or sold. It maintains green spaces such as gardens/rooftop gardens on the property and most of the food provided are organic, offsetting a portion of its carbon footprint.
