Summer has officially arrived in Frankfurt: a perfect time to discover this small and historic metropolis on the river Main, to indulge in local cuisine, exhibitions at multiple museums on the museums embankment or join a guided city tour.

Fun times at the Fisherman’s joust – Sunday, 6 August at 4:00 pm
The Main Festival, (04th August – 07th August 2023) celebrated in spacious summer gardens along the Main offers many highlights such as live music, around a hundred fairground rides, children’s merry-go-rounds, gaming booths and shooting galleries, food stalls etc. It truly is a celebration for all age groups.

One of the most popular attractions during the Main festival is the time-honoured “fisherman’s joust which will once again be staged on the Main. Here, participants attempt to knock each other out of their boats using long wooden poles. The Main Festival traditionally kicks off with a ceremony where wine is tapped from the Römerberg’s Fountain of Justice. It concludes with a magnificent firework display best viewed from alongside the river.

Walk and indulge in Apple Wine: 11 – 28 August
