“As symbols of beauty, bravery, and strength, tigers have always added a majestic touch to our wildlife. In India, where more than 70% of the total tiger population resides, they hold an even more special place as our national animal. Recognising their critical role in maintaining balance in the global ecosystem and protecting the natural food chain, saving tigers is a crucial priority for conservation efforts.
At Evolve Back, we firmly believe that protecting the wildlife, tigers in particular, is one of our key responsibilities. Surrounding our Kuruba Safari Lodge in Kabini, we have created a safe environment for these big cats by actively supporting the Forest Department. The management takes part in regular animal census drives and helps with the periodic cleaning campaigns taking place in the forests and surrounding regions. Moreover, working closely with the local communities and our guests, we raise awareness about wildlife conservation and encourage active participation in safeguarding the same.
On this International Tiger Day, we must realise the common purpose of building a worldwide system dedicated to protecting tigers and their natural habitats. With the tiger population dwindling globally, it is important for governments, organisations, and individuals to collaboratively come up with more initiatives to combat the threats they face, such as habitat loss and poaching. Only by working together can we ensure that future generations have the opportunity to witness tigers in the wild and also conserve other species and forests simultaneously.”
