Uniting the Nation: ‘Bharat Parv’ Returns for its 9th Edition with a Cultural Extravaganza

The Ministry of Tourism, Government of India is organizing the 9th edition of ‘Bharat Parv,’ and the India Tourism Development Corporation (ITDC) is privileged to be associated with the nine-days celebration yet again as in previous editions. The event is being managed by Ashok Events, the events vertical of ITDC.  Being held at the Lawns and Gyan Path, in front of the Red Fort, Delhi, from January 23rd to 31st, 2024, this event stands as an integral part of the Republic Day celebrations.

Students from The Ashok Institute of Hotel Management (AIHTM) of ITDC will curate and operate food stalls and cultural activities, adding a culinary dimension to the festivities. They will perform ‘Nukkad Natak’ on the theme of ‘Naari Shakti’, aiming to educate and raise awareness about the empowerment and strength of women among the visitors.

The inauguration ceremony on January 23rd marked the commencement of this week-long public event.  Honourable Prime Minister, Shri Narendra Modi ji, has inaugurated Bharat Parv 2024 at the historic Red Fort. It highlighted and rejoiced in the diverse tapestry of our cultural heritage. The inauguration wasn’t just a formal beginning; it also signified a notable step forward in advancing the “Dekho Apna Desh” initiative, encouraging people to explore their own country, with the incorporation of cutting-edge technology into the festivities. Bharat Parv stands as a testament to the commitment to promote and embrace the various facets of nation’s rich heritage and traditions.

The event promises a rich cultural experience, featuring spectacular performances by the 3-Armed Forces bands, cultural showcases by Zonal Cultural Centres, State/UTs cultural troupes, and regional associations in Delhi. A PAN-India food court with 60 diverse stalls and a crafts bazaar will offer a sensory journey through India’s culinary and artistic landscape. Additional activities include tribal dance performances, a Service Band concert, an exhibition of Republic Day Tableaux, and the enchanting illumination of the Red Fort.

In a statement, M R Synrem, IAS, Managing Director, ITDC has highlighted its collaboration with the Ministry of Tourism to ensure the seamless execution of ‘Bharat Parv.’Ashok Events efforts are directed towards creating a truly remarkable experience for all attendees. This event serves as a vibrant platform, showcasing the diverse and rich cultural heritage of our nation.  ‘Bharat Parv’ has evolved into a celebration of unity. It is a manifestation of themes such as ‘Dekho Apna Desh,’ ‘Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat,’ ‘G20,’ and ‘Mission LIFE.’ These themes resonate throughout the event, fostering a sense of national pride.  

Bharat Parv’ will offer a diverse range of activities, including stalls set up by State Tourism Departments, food vendors, cooking demonstrations, live handloom and handicrafts demonstrations, and exhibitions by various Ministries of the Government of India.
