Elephant Rock at Saudi Arabia’s AlUla Adorned in Banners Ahead of House of the Dragon Season 2 Premiere on OSN+

Elephant Rock

OSN+, the exclusive home for HBO content in the MENA region, has joined HBO’s ‘Raise Your Banners’ global campaign in the Middle East which kicked off at the landmark of Elephant Rock in AlUla today to celebrate the upcoming second season of one of the most-awaited TV series of the year. The campaign features stunning digital transformations of iconic landmarks, including the spectacular Elephant Rock in AlUla. House of the Dragon Season 2, an eight-episode HBO Original drama series, will be available exclusively on OSN+ and OSNtv across the MENA region from June 17, 2024.

The digital stunt video features Elephant Rock’s dramatic roll-down banner pledging allegiance to #TeamGreen, symbolizing the vying houses at the heart of this season’s House of the Dragon. This is just one of the many exciting visuals planned to build anticipation for the series.

The Dance of the Dragons, which officially began in the Season 1 finale, continues with Daemon versus Aemond, Erryk versus Arryk, and Aegon versus Aegon. As the Seven Kingdoms are torn apart by the question of who should succeed the Iron Throne—Queen Rhaenyra or Aegon II—each noble house must choose sides.

Queen Alicent Hightower (Olivia Cooke), King Viserys’s widow and Rhaenyra’s childhood friend, leads Team Green. Queen Rhaenyra (Emma D’Arcy), King Viserys’s eldest child and chosen successor, leads Team Black. Denied the Iron Throne by the Greens, Rhaenyra is determined to reclaim her birthright by Fire and Blood.

Set 200 years before the events of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon tells the story of House Targaryen and the brutal civil war that nearly tore it apart. Based on George R.R. Martin’s “Fire & Blood,” the series promises to captivate audiences with its gripping narrative and breathtaking visuals.

Located in the northwest of Saudi Arabia, AlUla is an oasis city renowned for its diverse natural landscape including mountains, desert, and unique geological rock formations, along with significant heritage sites. Among these is Hegra, Saudi Arabia’s first UNESCO World Heritage Site. This combination makes AlUla an ideal destination for filming and tourism.
